Q: Can I use this on plywood sub top for an exterior stone counter?
26 days ago- A: Plywood is notorious for absorbing moisture. Seal-Once will slow it down but not stop it. New pressure treated wood will need to weather 3 months in warm weather before you clean and apply Seal-Once. (Moisture content must be under 20%) FYI: Seal-Once is not appropriate and not tough enough for use on a boat, shop floors, trailer floors, sub floors, sub countertops, or roofing construction. You cannot apply stain, sealers, primer, paint, glue, epoxy, polyurethane, or varnish over Seal-Once. They will bead up and roll off. Also, you cannot apply Seal-Once products over stain, sealers, primer, paint, glue, epoxy, polyurethane, or varnish. Seal-Once will not penetrate leaving un-even shiny/sticky spots. We do not make any products for your project. You need an industrial sealer. We do not make that type of product.25 days agoHelpful?
Q: Can it be applied over stain and sanded spar varnish that has been stripped
a month ago- A: Do not apply Seal-Once over stain or varnish. There may be old product hidden deep in the wood pores and Seal-Once will not penetrate leaving un-even shiny sticky spots. You cannot apply Seal-Once products over stain, sealers, primer, paint, polyurethane, or varnish. Seal-Once will not penetrate leaving un-even shiny/sticky spots. Also, you cannot apply stain, sealers, primer, paint, polyurethane, or varnish over Seal-Once. They will bead up and roll off.a month agoHelpful?
Q: What is the best way to apply this product to the wood?
a month ago- AI-assistedA: Hi Neighbor- The best way to apply this sealer is using a brush to push the product into the wood. If you spray or roll it on, you must immediately back-brush the area. Apply two thin coats "wet on wet," meaning the second coat should be applied within 20 minutes while the first is still wet.a month agoHelpful?

2 months ago- A: Hi Neighbor! Seal-Once Clear Water-Based Waterproofing Exterior Sealer is an eco-friendly product specifically designed for exterior wood surfaces. It is a low VOC formulation that creates a flexible, breathable barrier against moisture, allowing wood to expand and contract without peeling.2 months agoHelpful?
Q: Can this be used on honey bee hive boxes?
3 months ago- A: Do not apply Seal-Once to a bee hive box. We do not recommend any Seal-Once product for animal or insect cages or enclosures. Also, we do not have FDA approval for use around food/honey.3 months agoHelpful?
Q: how long does it take to dry
4 months ago- A: Allow 2-3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity, for surface to dry. Allow 24 hours for full cure. Seal-Once is for exterior wood surfaces. We do not make any interior products.4 months agoHelpful?
Q: drying time or how long before a second coat can be applied
4 months ago- A: The second coat must be applied while the first coat is still wet. You can apply the required 2 coats of Seal-Once exterior water proofer with a brush. Apply 2 thin coats. If you spray or roll, you must immediately brush the area using a brush. It is called back brushing. Do not spray or roll and leave it, you must back brush it immediately after spraying or rolling, using a brush. Brushing is very important. You begin at the end of two boards. You will brush to the other end of the same two boards. Now apply a second coat to the same 2 boards. Apply the second coat within 5-10 minutes of the first coat. The second coat must be applied while the first coat is still wet. (Wet on wet application). Push the product into the wood with the brush. Spread it out evenly and not too heavy. More is not always better. Do not allow it to puddle. Wipe off any excess with a rag. This way, you never walk over wet product. Three things to avoid during application: 1. Waiting too long between the first and second coat. 2. Do not apply too heavy. (Apply thin coats). 3. When applying the second coat, if you can't brush the product into the wood because there is too much, don't leave it on the surface thinking it will magically soak into the wood. The wood is already saturated. Wipe the excess off with a rag. If you don't wipe off the excess, it will leave un-even shiny sticky spots that will attract dirt and mildew. Wait till Spring to complete your project. Seal-Once will work OK in 50 degree weather, ( must be 50 for 24 hours), but your wood will get damp from dew and rain. At lower temps during the night, water in the wood takes many days and weeks to dry out. If you use Seal-Once on wood that looks dry but is actually damp inside the wood cells, Seal-Once will not penetrate leaving un-even shiny/sticky spots. Also the "Multi-Surface Cleaner" you must use, works much better when the temps are in the 70's and above. If you wait till Spring, your wood will get a bit more silvery grey over the Winter months, but you will restore the color using Seal-Once "Multi-Surface Cleaner" in the Spring.4 months agoHelpful?
