I have always used valspar. The barn paint is on the thinner side but covered easily. Was easy for an old lady to use. I took before, after one coat, and after 2 coats. It did take two coats. The black on the finished picture is glidden barn paint. It was much thicker. If I had known how the glidden would cover I probably would have gotten it. Next time I will check out the glidden. But as a 67 year old lady I may not be the one painting my barn next time.
