With this combination grass seed, fertilizer, and soil improver, you can get up to a 50% thicker lawn subject to proper care (results may vary based on the condition of your lawn). This 3-in-1 solution for thin, weak lawns helps turn your grass into thicker, greener turf with stronger roots in one easy application. Use this product to overseed your lawn once in the late spring and once in the late summer or early fall. Apply in three easy steps: 1) Prep your lawn by mowing to 2 inches or at the lowest mower setting, then rake to loosen the top layer of soil and remove dead grass and debris. 2) Use a Scotts spreader to apply (use the recommended settings on the label). 3) Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist for 2 weeks until seeds germinate, then water regularly to maintain seedling growth. The Scotts Turf Builder Thick’r Lawn Sun and Shade works amazing. I just laid some of it down a few days ago and it’s already doing its job. The design and packaging is nice as well.

Just ok

This was just ok, it did not work on the whole lawn just in certain spots even though we applied it the same and followed the directions. I’m not sure why it didn’t work for us.

Quick turf lush up!

I received this product for free from Influenster for my honest review. Living in Kansas, we take our turf pretty seriously, and Scotts is basically the "big dog" around here everyone knows them and expects results. I just finished the application, and the 10pound bag was just right for covering a typical suburban front and backyard (about 1,000 square feet). While I can’t give you the final "before and after" reveal just yet, I’ll be back in a few months to update on how it held up. What I really dig about this is the 3-in-1 approach. It’s a solid overseeding choice because it doesn't just toss seed at the problem; the added fertilizer acts like a "turbo mode" for growth, and the soil improver packed with organic materials is designed to get those roots deep and strong. Since my yard gets a mix of everything, I'm glad it's formulated for both sun/shade and drought resistance once it gets its feet under it. The bag itself is foolproof. The instructions actually have color photos, which is a nice touch if you’re worried about messups. It went down easy, and now it's just a waiting game to see if it delivers that thick, lush carpet it promises.

You will have the best yard on the block!

We had some bald patches in our front lawn that needed some help. We live on a busy street so we want the lawn to be lush and Scott’s Turf Builder Thick’r Lawn Sun & Shade is where it’s at! We have trees and full sun areas and both have shown growth. It’s easy to use and it does go a long way.
