Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix thrives in a variety of conditions. This grass seed mix contains Root-Building Nutrition, a combination of ingredients that is expertly crafted to help establish deep roots to grow thick, green turf so that you can build a better, stronger lawn from the roots up. This combination grass seed, fertilizer, and soil improver is designed for full sun and dense shade, and has medium drought resistance with medium to high durability. It can be used to seed a new lawn or overseed an existing lawn. For best results, apply in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F or air temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F. We recommend using a Scotts spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 5.6 lb. bag of Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix has a new lawn coverage of 745 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 2,240 sq. ft.

Disappointed

a month ago
Bought a dethatcher, then aerated, seeded with Scotts sun and shade, used starter fertilizer and got poor results after over 25 days. Began early September in the state of CT. Waste of money and time.

not all the seeds work... 70-75%...

I purchased the largest bag available and used it for 1/3 of the sqft area advertised hoping that it was going to even fuller than normal... i followed the spreader and watering instructions to the dot... the results after 3-4 weeks were not what I expected... Several areas with blanks..... so now i will have to reseed in all the blank spaces... I am wondering what would have happened if i used it in the area advertised... the blanks would have been even more...

We want you to feel confident in our products, so we're here to help. This grass seed germinates best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80°F range. Soil temperatures must be at least 55°F and daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65°F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Apply Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix with Root Building Nutrients in an area that provides full sun to medium shade. This seed mix requires at least 4 hours direct or filtered sunlight per day. We stand behind our products, which is why we offer a product guarantee. If, for any reason, you're not happy with the results after using this product, you're entitled to get your money back.
