The Scotts Turf Builder THICK'R LAWN Tall Fescue Mix has everything you need to help turn your thin lawn into a thicker, greener lawn. The 3-in-1 solution is formulated with grass seed to fill gaps in current lawn, fertilizer to feed, green, and thicken new and existing grass, and soil improvers to encourage stronger root development. These three components work together to help you get up to a 50% thicker lawn with just one application (subject to proper care; results may vary based on current condition of lawn). Scotts Turf Builder THICK'R LAWN Tall Fescue Mix is a great addition to your lawn care program with one application in the spring and one application in the late summer or early fall. We recommend using a Scotts spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep soil surface moist for the first 2 weeks. - A: Covering seed when overseeding is not typically necessary. If you decide to cover, the seed should still be partially visible under the covering. If the seed is covered too heavily then there will not be good seed germination.7 years agoHelpful?

Still waiting. . .

Despite doing lots of prep, including dethatching and aeration, and watering twice a day, the fescue seed has still not filled in the most bare spots. On the other hand, the overseeding was easy and the seed in the established parts of the lawn has never been thicker or more green. It's been over a month and hopefully the new grass will begin to thrive and cover the thin spots soon.
