Q: Can you feed this to any horse..including one I'm trying to put weight on
10 months ago- A: Hello, thank you for your question. This feed is formulated for foals and lactating mares but can also be used to help adult horses gain weight due to its higher protein and energy content. However, portion control is important for adult horses to avoid overfeeding. Consult a veterinarian for horses with special health needs.10 months agoHelpful?

Q: Can this be fed to a pregnant mare that is also HYPP: N/H? if not what would be best to feed to her?
3 years ago- A: Hello, According to the manufacturer, Purina® Omolene® #200, Strategy® GX or Ultium® Growth horse feed would be good choices for a pregnant mare, as during the tenth month of gestation the greatest amount of mineral retention occurs in the unborn foal. For inquiries about the best diet for a pregnant mare with Hyperkalemic Periodic Paralysis, please contact a veterinarian. Thank you for your question.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: How far into the mares pregnancy should i start her on this feed?
3 years ago- A: For feeding specifications, please contact your local Purina retailer or Purina Customer Service at 800-227-8941.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: Should this be fed to mare that ties up?
4 years ago- A: For horses that tie up, (PSSM or EPSM) a high fat feed is recommended. If this is a pregnant or nursing mare, we would recommend Ultium Growth instead of Omolene 300, as it is higher in fat, lower in starch and sugar. For more of a specific recommendation, we need more information.4 years agoHelpful?
