Love this feeder. We have 2. Even foals can reach it. Sturdy and light. Saves so much hay from wasting in the mud.

one of the items was broken and the alignment of the tubing was all off but I have no way of returning the product as it came on a tractor trailer.

The first Tarter basket feeder lasted for 6 years in a very punishing environment - eventually the constant contact with wet ground and manure took its toll and the base leg welds grew weak and bent. I wish we had just repaired it regardless of what it took. Instead we purchased new. The same style feeder was destroyed within 6 months - welds let go. We purchased another and the tubes bent like a plastic straw and the welds cracked. Ending up purchasing a $4,500.00 covered hay feeder that is a serious piece of equipment. Probably should have done that 29 years ago - money ahead. The one star is for the poly basket in all three units … still intact and not one even cracked.

It’s a good size (3 to 4 small bales) and easily to move. The only thing is that my horses tend to toss out their hay while looking for the best parts. I’m thinking of putting a hay net over the top to keep the hay inside of it.
