Item Information

Maximize your yard space for your pet. With the PetSafe YardMax Rechargeable In-Ground Fence, your pet is kept securely in your yard using buried wire, a transmitter and a rechargeable receiver collar. When your pet nears the boundary of buried wire, a warning tone is emitted from his collar, followed by a safe, static correction to remind him to stay in his fence. In YardMax Mode, the Warning Zone begins on the other side of the boundary instead of within your yard, giving your pet more yard space. The Boundary Zone continues past the Warning Zone indefinitely, so your pet can't run past the Boundary Zone. Your pet will receive corrections from the collar until he returns to the Pet Area, or until the safety time-out activates after 15 seconds. This helps your pet learn exactly where his boundaries are.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Fence...Horrible Collar. We have had the same problem with the collar as everyone else. One prong broke off. Collar will not work pay that much it should last longer than 2 years. We've been trying to go without using the collar or system for some time now but the Dane has figured it out and wont stay in her yard. To expensive for them to keep breaking. If there is more than one person having this problem the warranty should be looked at. Just saying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from addition to my review. battery life on this thing is amazing. Mines been going strong for 3 weeks now without a charge and that includes the first few days when he tested the fence often. We have another high dollar aeretek shock collar system with a remote that we used before. Its a high end system and the batteries in the collar were lucky to last 2 days before charging. We ended up buying two collars so we could keep one on the charger and swap them about every day. when I bought this system I bought two collars too. Figured id need to do the same. I about wasted my money buying the second on. I doubt it will ever need to be used. Heck after 3 weeks I could probably not even use the collar anymore as he knows exactly where he can and cant go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from seems to work well would have given it 5 starts but the collars included are cheap and constantly loosen and the test light is junk and about impossible to see flash in bright light. You also (at least me with my old ears) cant here the thing beep. Mine does seem to work well on the yard max setting but my dog can run through it on the standard mode. I use the collar and test light from an old shock collar from a different manufacture (should have to at the cost of this system) and use it on yard max mode. Might be complaining a bit but have to say this thing does do what it is suppose to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken collar prongs Looking at buying Yardmax fencing system, but reading alot of bad reviews on the collars durability. Could anyone tell me what Petsafe has done for you when this has occurred? Don't want to invest if the company doesn't stand behind their products!!

Is the transmitter plugged into an electrical outlet or is it battery operated and rechargeable ?

Asked by: Tippy52
Thank you for your question! The transmitter unit must be plugged into a power outlet or equivalent power source in order to function.

Does the wire have to be continuous (not broken) or can we use house as one boundary ?

Asked by: Tippy52
That's a great question! The wire does need to be in a continuous loop, that both starts and ends at the transmitter. However, you can still use the house as a side of the boundary, by using our Double Loop Layout. If you could give us a call at 1-800-732-2677, we'd be happy to discuss layout options in more detail!

How deep does the wire need to be buried

Asked by: Vinceminix
That's a great question! We recommend the wire to be buried 1-3 inches.
