The PetSafe Rechargeable In-Ground Fence System is the convenient containment system that lets you keep your pet safe in your yard without having to regularly replace collar batteries. Charge your pet's receiver collar when the battery's low and away he goes to enjoy his new yard freedom. Add as many pets as you like with additional compatible collars. 4 adjustable levels of static correction plus tone-only mode for training lets you find just the right level for your pet. The fence installs in about a weekend with some basic DIY skills. You'll bury wires in your yard to set a custom pet area up to 25 acres with additional wire and flags. The Transmitter sends a radio signal through the boundary wire to your pet's collar. If your pet approaches the boundary, he'll hear a warning beep to remind him to stay in the yard. If he continues through the boundary, he'll feel a safe, gentle static correction from the collar to keep him in the yard. Q: What if I have concrete driveways and no way to put it in the ground in certain areas

- A: Hello. Thank you for your question. If your driveway has expansion joints, the wire can be run through these and then covered with caulk or rubber stripping to protect it from damage. If your driveway does not have an expansion joint, one can be cut by using the appropriate power tool, or you may be able to run it underneath the driveway in a type of non-metallic piping or tubing such as PVC pipe.2 years agoHelpful?

Q: I purchased the rechargeable in ground d fence...my question is...IF THEY happen to go past the line will they receive a shock when they try to return?? I notice so.e of your fences have no shock when they return. Which models do not shock upon return?

Q: I already have an existing 5ft panel fence, problem is they can climb and then jump over. Is it necessary to bury the wire? Can I just attach it to the existing posts about 1ft off the ground? or lower?

- A: This system offers a Run-Through protection, meaning it will correct at the highest level if the pet passes the boundary wire. This receiver collar does have a 30 second time-out time before it safety turns off. We do advise to properly train your pets to the boundary wire to prevent the pet from bolting through the boundary wire. You may also find it helpful our Stubborn Dog receiver collar is compatible with this fencing system as well.4 years agoHelpful?

- A: Yes, you may purchase additional wire at a local hardware store. Our systems can effectively accommodate any 14 to 20 gauge, copper-insulated wire. The wire can be solid, stranded or a mixture of both. This is due to the size of the wire terminals on the transmitter. For best results, it is recommended to use all the same gauge or no more than one gauge larger or smaller than the current wire (20 gauge).6 years agoHelpful?

Q: What is the length of wire that comes with it and what is the total perimeter that can be enclosed? Is it true that the wire needs to double back on itself so that there are actually 2 strands running the perimeter?

The fence can handle up to 25 acres so you will be able to add additional wire to expand the boundary. There are many different layout options you can choose from when using In-Ground Containment. Typically, a double loop layout is only needed if you are intending to enclose only one side of the yard. Works on Cats & Dogs!

We installed the PetSafe invisible fence system 2 years ago. The directions were easy to follow and It was easy to install. We trained our cat on this invisible fence and we haven't had him leave the premises since. With this system he gets to run around and play in a large area (about an acre), but stays within the boundaries we set for him. When we got our puppy, we purchased an additional collar and we trained him on it as well. He also stays withing the set perimeter. The system has continued to work flawlessly over the last two years with no issues. We love the system as it gives our pets freedom but is keeping them contained to our property and safe.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Doesn’t work well. We bought the set and 2 extra collars. 2 of the collars can run right across the barrier with no correction.
No, I do not recommend this product.
