Some customers do choose to add foam weatherstripping to the space between their panel and where their sliding glass door rests; this would need to be purchased separately. Additionally, you will need the following tools to install the door following standard installation- Masking or Painter's Tape Drill 7/64" Drill Bit 9/64" Drill Bit 1/4" Drill Bit Phillips Screwdriver Pencil Tape Measure Safety Equipment (protection goggles, etc.) Scissors If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us! EXELLENT INVESTMENT / EZ INSTALLATION

Tired up getting up and letting your pet outside in the middle of the night....??? Economical and EZ installation.... My 2 Pits want me to install another Pet Door in my shop now so they don't have to set outside the door- bark & wait for me to open it.... Our first Pet Door I installed on the back door of our mobile home over 2 years ago and is still working GREAT....!

I bought this product a few years back. I'm retired now but was in the construction business and purchase a lot of these for my customers. After installing hundreds of these Pet Safe decided to discontinue the product and now nobody can buy the inserts to maintain there purchase. I have had numerous conversations with them and their answer is tuff. I would not recommend this for anyone!!! I would recommend Tractor Supply but this product never. You will be sorry sooner are later.

Disappointing compared to previous version

This is a definite downgrade from the discontinued version. I had that one for 10 years and needed a new flap, unfortunately the XL is no longer available so I had to purchase a new door. This one fits the same opening but is no where near as durable as the previous one. It actually comes with plastic screws, which I replaced with metal after two broke within 6 months. The flap hangs too low and adjusting the height doesn't stay put. With the flap hanging too low, it creates gaps on the sides since it's not hanging flat. Now, a year later the magnet is broken and I have to buy a whole new flap??? Very disappointed!
No, I do not recommend this product.

This doggie door is definitely not worth the price. The flap has never fitted properly . The bracket that holds the flaps keeps sliding out of place causing the door to have big gaps allowing bugs and either hot or cold air to get in. Now the bracket broke in half and i can’t get a replacement for it. i have already replaced the flap once, and as suggested by Petsafe, tried putting 2 flaps on to weight down the door.

We're sorry to hear the mounting bracket for your flap has been damaged! Based on this information, it does sound as if the screws may not have been tightened as intended; when fit as intended the magnet on the flap(s) should just barely touch the frame of the door rather than resting on it, pulling the flap(s) taut. In this position, though flaps may slightly shift over time, they should not quickly drop.

Easily Installed Myself

2nd door purchase, great product, easy installation. My senior dog needed a bigger one. I put the 1st one in 2014. It would've still been there, but my Buddy's hips aren't so good. Put in XL door, easier on him. Not thrilled with the new latch, but still a win for all of us.
Yes, I recommend this product.
