I bought my door 13 to 15 yrs ago. I am just now replacing the flap. I’m in northern Ohio hot to frigid. In that time I have had 5 50 plus lb. dogs (4 labs 1 Aussie) and 15 plus kitties and one pigmy goat who stuck his head through regularly. The goat and dogs were too large for the door!! The used it anyway. The Aussie still uses it leaving fur on ALL SIDES as she squeezes her ample girth through the medium size opening. She’s a big 67 pound girl and a 14 years old I’m not going to punish her for losing her girlish figure this late in the game. Rex my 110 lb chocolate lab (GRHS) and Matilda (Aussie) both stick their heads out the door with their bodies in the house and just lay there! Trolls. To the point and to inform new buyers, this little door has taken more abuse and use than any door should ever have taken! As to bad reviews I might suggest improper installation or misuse! Maybe people just can’t be satisfied or feel the need to complain in hopes of receiving a refund. As for this customer, wow this is a great product! Buy it and if you have issues with installing it, have someone do it for you, you’ll be glad you did.

Beautiful door. Worked flawlessly and easy to install

The PetSafe dog doors are well made and last a long time. Ours has lasted over 10 years! I just replaced the flap today to freshen it up. The replacement flap is the same high quality. Our dogs are large and use the extra large door. But even our cats can push it open. It keeps the cold air out in the winter while letting animals in and out.
