Replacement dog door flap

This is a replacement flap for the PetSafe dog door that is in my storm door. The flap was not difficult to install. However, just a few days later the flap came off of the original screws because the holes in the flap were able to stretch over the heads of the screws as my dog went in and out. The holes did not tear. I fixed it with very thin washers placed between the screws and the flap. Luckily I had some washers to fit. Hopefully this holds. Wish the product came with washers or something surrounding the holes to prevent this from happening. It would be a simple thing for the company to add screws/washers/replacement back holder with the flaps.

Faps work, but difficult design

The flaps do what they are supposed to do, but they are unbelievably difficult to install. I tried for a long time, then hired a professional Handyman. He tried for a long time, then gave up. I hired a second Handyman. He tried for a long time, and finally got it.

They Don't Last!

They last about 9 months. I have 2 large dogs and they go in and out a reasonable amount. I just ordered another pne of these and I am super frustrated because they don't last. I wish I could change to another pet door but I already cut a hole in my door for this one to fit. I would stay away from Petsafe doors.

Though it is normal to replace flaps over time and flap lifespans will vary for each home based on many factors (where the door is located, if the door is exposed to extreme weather/temperatures, how often and how roughly dogs use the door, etc.), many homes are able to use their flaps for around a year or longer. Doggie Doors are Great for big or small dogs

We have used doggie doors for years for our chihuahuas and labs and they are great.
