2 months ago- A: Thank you for asking about this! We would not recommend attempting to install a pet door within an older pet door. We would recommend removing the prior door, then using carpentry/DIY skills or hiring a carpenter to build up inside the cutout as far as would be needed to install a new door that suits your current pup. If your 11 lb. dog has a chest width smaller than 8 1/4", our small size could be a good fit; this would require a cutout size around 6 3/8" wide and around 10 1/8" tall; we would recommend ensuring you use the template that would come with the door to make any needed cuts/frame in around the needed area. This is both to ensure the best fit, and that the shoulder height line on the template can be matched to your dog's measured adult shoulder height. It is worth mentioning, however, that this is not a wall entry door, and a door designed to be installed in walls may be a better fit for your needs. Q: Will this pet say doggie door go in a wall for up to 7 1/4 inch
8 months ago- A: Thank you for asking about this, Lisa! This door is intended for installation in standard doors. Though some customers do choose to install it in a wall, this would require a tunnel to be constructed separately using your own DIY skills, and there would be flap on only one side. For a door designed for wall entry use with a tunnel and flaps at either end, we would recommend considering our wall entry door, seen here- https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/petsafe-petsafe-wall-entry-pet-door-ppa00-16944-1527172 This door is suitable for walls from 4 3/4" - 7 1/4" thick.8 months agoHelpful?
Q: Would a small dog be able to open up the large dog door
