Q: does it have a plastic trim for both sides of the door

Q: I assume the dimension for the flap opening and not overall, right?

  • A: Great question! The Frame dimensions are 7 ½" x 7 7/8" and the Flap opening is 5 ¾" x 5 ¾". Please do not pre-cut the door as it is best to use the included template.

Hunk of junk!

Don’t like the door at all, doesn’t have the small magnet to keep the door in place. Allows air flow to enter because of missing magnet. Hunk of junk!

Not great for hollow doors

Purchased and installed on hollow interior door and there is a gap which could hurt the cats. What is your recommendation for this? Do you make a tunnel for this door?

Thank you for sharing this concern with us! As most cats step directly through the door the gap is typically not a usage issue, but this area can certainly be covered. Though there is not a tunnel available for this particular model, as mentioned on page 7 of the manual this area can be covered by duct tape or a similar material.

Fixed an old door

I had this exact door in an outside wall for years. The only difference was a magnet in the door and frame to assist in keeping the door shut. Door broke, got the new one, (no magnet) swapped the magnet and snapped the new door into the old frame. Perfect fix!!!
