This Permatex Gasket Maker is a single component, medium-strength, thixotropic, anaerobic sealant that cures rapidly. The gasket maker sealant cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting aluminum surfaces. It provides a tough, resilient, solvent and temperature resistant seal that flexes with flange movement caused by vibration, pressurization, or thermal changes.

Gasket-making directions: Clean both flange surfaces and remove paint, dirt, grease or old gasket completely. Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator on one surface only and allow it to dry 1-2 minutes. Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the unprimed surface. Assemble the mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement. Excess sealant can be wiped away with a cloth and shop solvent.
Gasket-dressing directions: Clean both flange surfaces and remove paint, dirt, grease or old gasket completely. Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator on one surface only and allow it to dry 1-2 minutes. Completely cover both sides of the pre-cut gasket with sealant and place the coated gasket on the flange. Assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement.
