This Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant is a medium-strength anaerobic sealant with PTFE for tapered pipe threads. This sealing compound is of a white, creamy paste consistency and has high lubricating properties that prevent galling on pipe threads and fittings. It will provide immediate low pressure sealing and allow for the readjustment of fittings shortly after assembly. After 72 hours, the joint is sealed to pipe burst pressure. This heavy-duty thread sealant has a medium solvent resistance and will withstand temperatures to 400 F (204 C). Please note the product is not recommended for use on plastic piping.

  • This medium-strength anaerobic sealant with PTFE is designed for use with tapered pipe threads
  • Lubricates threads for an easy assembly and disassembly
  • Will not shred or wear like Teflon or other similar tapes
  • Parts may be repositioned for up to 24 hours after application.
  • The high temperature thread sealant also locks and seals threaded fittings
  • Resists leakage, vibration loosening, moisture, hydraulic fluids, and diesel fuels for long-lasting strength
  • Comes out in a white, creamy paste consistency
  • Features high lubricating properties that prevent galling on pipe threads and fittings
  • Provides immediate low pressure sealing and allows for the readjustment of fittings shortly after assembly for convenience
  • The joint becomes sealed to pipe burst pressure after 72 hours
  • Medium solvent resistance makes this automobile thread sealant extra durable
  • Not recommended for use on plastic piping
  • Suggested applications for automobiles include: head bolts into through holes, oil PSI sending units and sensors, oil and coolant lines, fuel fittings, rear axle fill plug, brake and power steering fittings
  • Suggested heavy-duty applications include: differential drain plugs and core plugs, pipe, water jacket, oil gallery plugs, oil pressure and temperature sensors, air conditioning fittings, hydraulic fittings, and vacuum line connectors
  • Volume: 50 ml tube
  • Temperature range: -65 to 400 F (-54 to 204 C)
  • This medium-strength thread sealant is also OEM specified
  • Directions: For best results, clean parts with Permatex Surface Prep activator. Knead the tube of the thread sealant before use. Apply the sealant to leading threads of the male fitting, leaving the first thread free of sealant. Apply to only part of a thread turn, as it is not necessary to apply to all threads. Assemble parts and tighten to recommended torque.
  • Seals threaded metal fittings on hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cooling systems, but is not recommended for plastics or rubber
