- A: Hi Neighbor! APPLICATION DIRECTIONS: Turn all pails upside down the night before, or at least prior to sealcoating. Temperatures must be 60°F and rising, but below 90°F during application. Do not apply if rain or cold temperatures below 50°F overnight are expected within 36 hours. This sealer is not recommended or warranted for use on surfaces containing slopes of greater than 20°. Clean driveway thoroughly and rinse. Remove puddles and then apply sealer to a slightly damp surface (not wet). A small amount of water separation in the pail is normal, and should be easily mixed in. Pour out 1/3 of the container and spread product across the blacktop surface with a squeegee. Squeegee must be used to spread product and for proper application rates. After application with squeegee, a follow up with a brush may be used if a textured surface is desired. Complete the entire driveway in one continuous application to prevent “color shading”. If multiple pails are used, it is best to match batch codes and blend the end of one pail into the beginning of the other to maintain consistent coloring and texture. Covered about 50% more than stated, 3 cans did 2000 square feet. Spread very nicely with a squeegee.

Blackjack driveway sealer

So would like to say TSC did a great job with the order (prepared timely, delivered to the car, they loaded it into the trunk) but I'm not particularly happy with the product.
First time using Blackjack products.
Blackjack seems to be thinner than an equivalent grade of latexite. It seemed to take more to cover the driveway (one and a half buckets instead of one). The buckets are smaller, only 4.75 gallons instead of 5 gallons. And sadly it appears to be breaking down already even though I just sealcoated a few weeks ago (memorial day weekend). I did let it cure for 3 days before driving on it.
Next time I think it is back to latexite.

Through inexperience on my part I did not know that the higher the number the thinner (easier to work with) the sealer was. The 3rd bucket was 500 and much easier to use.
