The kayak itself may have been a good kayak, wouldn't know. I called ahead to the store to be sure they had it in stock and be sure with it being a last year's item that it was in good condition. "yes, in stock, yes perfect condition". Ordered online had someone pick it up for me, got home to see it and it had two pretty good holes in it, covered in mud and all scratched up. Returned had issues with that and a rude worker. Advise go to the store yourself and be sure before purchase..

Great basic lightweight kayak

Lightweight and very easy to carry and load onto the car roof by myself. The open cockpit design is nice and roomy and the seat is comfortable. It fits a lot of cargo, or I can bring both of my dogs with me, one of which is quite large. Sturdy in the water even with the dogs onboard and it tracks decently. Not super fast but perfect for leisurely paddles on the lake with friends. Drains well but I recommend buying the Pelican brand scupper plugs. The included paddle is good quality as well.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Kayak 40 pound range. Easy to get in and out of. Lots of room for dogs. Seat very comfortable. Handles well in small stream/creek settings. Kayak very sluggish in open water. Despite being a sit on top kayak, kayak stays very dry. Pelican paddle cheaply made.
