trash seed....did not germinate

I’ve bought grass seeds at the big box stores and never got the response like I did with this product. The result is nothing short of miraculous. I’ve been plagued with a mole problem and after treatments and using the other seeds someone told me to try this particular brand and I can’t believe the transformation.

I have been growing grass for 55 years, as a landscaper. I killed the crabgrass, waited a week, pulled it up, raked out thatch, applied seed and starter fertilizer, and covered with straw. Then watered 2-3 times daily. pH 6.8. Perfect weather. Only got 10-15% germination after 4 weeks. Highly disappointed. Now it's too late, and I have a lawn with giant dead patches.

I purchased the groundworks premium fescue seed. With daily watering to keep the seed moist, not over watering. The area gets shade during the hottest part of the day. Currently our temperatures have been the preferred growing conditions for this fescue. The germination rate of this seed is 0%. I have previously purchased the kentucky 31 fescue from tractor supply and never had an issue in same conditions. The seed itself must be defective or you are selling out dated seeds at my store in this product. The guaranteed germination for the population is stated on the bag by law and 0% is nowhere close to the stated germination rate for this seed you are selling. Now after putting my faith into Tractor Supply to get my yard seeded in the areas that it needed, I am going to have to redo the yard to prepare another seed bed for seed, missing the ideal growing conditions for fescue before the summer heat arrives and potentially kills it now since i have to re-seed my yard again and not giving it the optimum growing conditions to mature before the summer heat. All of this additional work that i am going to have to do is because of a product that you are selling that does not live up to anything else in the market place. I could say oh if it was about 60% germination rate then that's probably due to environmental conditions or not enough water in some spots but at 0% germination I am positive that it is the seed. I have planted other brands of fescue in other area of yard with same conditions and maintenance to get it to grow and it looks wonderful except now my yard has this eye sore that everyone can see because of a product that you sell does not perform. I am going to have to spend even more money now to double seed the area (requires 2 bags or 1 big bag) to hope that i can get it up before the summer.
