The Farm-Tuff 3 gal. Top Fill Poultry and Game Bird Waterer is great for all kinds of chickens, ducks, turkeys and all game birds. This poultry drinker is made from durable high-density polyethylene and has a vacuum-sealed cap for controlled water flow. With a wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning, this bird waterer also comes with a durable handle top for convenient carrying.

Q: How do you fill the 3 gallons with water amd orevent it from leaking out until you get it completely filled? I open the top black cap and then fill it 3 times with a gallon milk jug. But it starts to leak out before I finish the job.

- A: The unit should not leak while filling if you place the small white cap from the storage knob down to seal the water outlet. Place the black handle cap on the unit before removing the white fill cap to prevent leaking.a year agoHelpful?
Q: How do you get this thing to stop leaking out water? Just purchased this and as soon as we fill it with water it is leaking out. It is on a flat and level surface too.

- A: Please make sure that there is no dirt stuck to the o-ring or inside the black cap and that the o-ring is in the grove where its supposed to sit. Call the manufacturer at 866-449-4343 if these tips don't fix the problem.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Had this watered for over a year and struggle to get the black lid off after tightening it so it wouldn’t leak. What can I do to seal it without strong-arming it? Would Vaseline on the O-ring help? Getting frustrated here!!

Q: Still having leaking after tightening little white cap that is precarious to get to and easy to lose, Vaseline on black seal and screwed on black lid as tight as I could. This is a chicken waterer, it shouldn’t be complicated.

Don’t waste your money

3 gallons leaks out every single time. I do not recommend this waterer. It’s positional and it seriously just keeps letting water out of the bottom hole. It’s like the water doesn’t occlude when it’s full. There are no other leaks or holes or cracks. It’s placed on a level surface. It just sucks and not worth the mess and hassle.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor design. Cannot fill from top without all water spilling out. Have to plug the hole in order to fill, would be better if it came with a stopper or cover for the output so you can fill.

Perfect size to be able to easily carry inside to fill during these cold NY winter months. Sturdy and reliable. I originally purchased one, and loved it so much I had to get a second one. Highly recommend.

This works well, although the top is a bit hard to unscrew, however does a good job.
I have it on top of theLittleClucker heater base and it’s a good combination
I refill about every three or four days, my chicken ate messy and I have to clean it out everyday
