The Farm-Tuff 5 gal. Top Fill Poultry and Game Bird Waterer is great for all kinds of chickens, ducks, turkeys and all game birds. The jug is constructed from high-density polyethylene that is semi-opaque so you can see the water level inside the poultry drinker. Featuring a wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning, this bird waterer comes with a durable handle top for convenient carrying.

Q: What are the directions to fill the waterer with the extra cap. I filled mine with the cap on and then took the cap off and water wouldn’t stop flowing out all over the floor. I had to put the cap back on. Did I do something wrong?

- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "The cap should be on while you fill the waterer, once filled, then replace the top with handle to create the vacuum you need inside the unit. Then remove the small cap making sure the bottom tray is in place."8 months agoHelpful?

Q: Is there something to put around the outside of the container that would cover the water ring, like a little overhang? This would help stop dirt and bird droppings from landing in the water. Something like this would be good.

Good, solid watering option

Good, solid watering option. However, I ordered these online for delivery and upon arrival, two of them were missing the outlet caps. I did not know this at the time, nor did I know to look for them. This isn't a good product solution when you have parts that can easily be removed or lost. Additionally, the fill cap/handle needs to be tightened down very well to create a suction. This is problematic when it comes to refilling these units as the top can be difficult to remove for a refill. Again, I feel this is a design flaw.

Poor design

@$45 for an algae magnet. There's a channel inside the outflow hole at the Bottom that collects dirt and algae that you could only clean out from the inside if you were able to get a brush into a 6 mm by 1 mm wide circular channel. You can't get into it with a brush. Waste of money and unsanitary. Try adding a pic to this review... I challenge anyone.

Don’t buy this type of waterer

Terrible waterer. We’ve screwed the top down tight, we’ve leveled it. Sometimes it holds the water, sometimes it does not.
