Q: Is this product safe to use in an evaporative humidifier around parrots? Birds in general are pretty sensitive to chemicals in the air and I would not want to harm them.

- A: Hello, Keoni8888! Our bacteriostat is EPA approved for use in the contiguous United States. It is odorless and non-toxic through inhalation. It is comprised of 97% water and 3% ammonium salts – the same ingredients you will find in many common household cleaners, disinfectants, and other bacteriostatic treatments. We care about our customers’ safety, and our label is written to ensure that our customers are careful when using this product. You and your pets will not be harmed when using this bacteriostat as directed. If you’d like to receive our safety data sheet that explains our ingredients, please contact our office at info@essickair.com.-Melissa, AIRCARE4 years agoHelpful?
Q: We used this product in our humidifier all winter! We have a film on everything and I mean everything can anybody tell me about that

- A: White dust is usually caused by mineral content in the water that goes into a humidifier. When the mist lands on furniture or other surfaces and dries, it can sometimes leave behind the dried mineral deposits, or “white dust”. ... Within this mist are dissolved minerals from the water itself. Remove the unit's water tank and filter. Pour a generous amount of hydrogen peroxide or white distilled vinegar into the base of the humidifier. Use a clean toothbrush to scrub away film and mineral buildup. Let the liquid sit in the humidifier's base for at least 10 to 30 minutes, and then pour out the liquid.5 years agoHelpful?

An expensive item but necessary.

The product is priced less than comparable antibacterials. Do not use bleach as it burns the wicks which are expensive and if this item is used the wick can function for more than one season. The fill line inside the cap is not real obvious but it is slightly less than a teaspoon.

Great price with super service. I picked this up at the Saratoga store and the associate walked them out to my car because it was raining and she did not want to see me get drenched. Awesome people!

Works great. Been using for years.

Works great. Don't let reviews about it being "toxic" scare you. Use the amount specified in the Directions and it's fine. Use way too much, and yes, then it may bother you.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great price and product

Best price I’ve found. There was a delay getting the pick-it-up email, but I picked it up when tracking said it was already at the store. You can safely use this product if you follow the directions and dilute it as directed: in my humidifier, that’s 1 oz. for 6-gallons (768 oz.) of water. We’ve used it and found no unusual smell or effects on our breathing, nasal passages, or eyes. I’ll be using this Essick Air product from now on.
Yes, I recommend this product.
