This copra meal horse mix provides cool energy from coconut oil, a saturated fat. Saturated fats have been shown to spare muscle glycogen in horses, the important storage form of glucose. Additionally copra meal is high in the amino acid glutamine which helps support the healing of gut tissue, an important benefit for performance horses at greater risk of developing gastric ulcers. As a complete feed, this mix is high fiber and is formulated to be fed without additional hay in the ration.
