I’m a Plumber and this is the best tape measure I have ever purchased. I cannot find this product anywhere and was forced to purchase a new version of dewalt tape measure which I absolutely hate. Bring back this tape measure PLEASE!!!!

This is the third DeWalt tape measure I’ve owned (the first two stopped retracting) and this will be my last. I’ve been using this for a few weeks and I’ve got two problems. The first is that when I lock the tape out it is a huge pain to unlock it. The slide switch gets stuck and I have to stop what I’m doing to try and pry it down. The other issue I have is that the bottom of the tape measure is round. If I extend out the tape and set the housing down it just falls over and twists the tape. Why round? I want to go mark the mid point or third marks but I have to find something to hold the stupid tape measure up. This is a case of style over function all the way. Booooo DeWalt.

I often have something in my left hand and would like to take a quick measurement with my right hand. With my Stanley, Lufkin, and Craftsman tapes I could hook the tape on something (stud, counter top, wall corner, etc) and pull out enough tape to get a measurement with out having to put down what was in my left hand. I can't do that with the DeWalt tapes. The hook end doesn't extend down below the case far enough to hook it onto anything. You have to use two hands to pull out the tape.
