These trees that are forced into dormancy by freezing them in a commercial freezer are completely worthless and zero life left in them. Now I have to fight with TSC to get my money back. Avoid the headache don't buy this product. My bad for not reading the reviews but who would of guess that TSC sells dead trees!!!

I purchased two of these on sale, and upon planting there was no root system. They were basically scions, if even that. Upon planting, I dipped them in rooting hormone to try to give them a chance. Even if we suppose the rooting hormones saves these plants, I don't know what type they are; The product description doesn't address if these are type 1 (protandrous) or type 2 (protogynous) pecans because you really need two different types for good nut production-or so the internet says the reason why. Even if we suppose they are just a random ornamental variety, knowing what type they are could be useful when choosing a second cultivar for productivity.

I purchased my tree in late February with hopes of having a vigorous little seedling in the spring. When I opened the packaging, the roots were dry, and the tap root appeared to have been cut. I assume this was because it wouldn’t have fit in the cardboard container otherwise. The seedling never produced any leaves and appears to have died. I am disappointed in the quality of this product.

Happy with the price, but no results yet. Pecan trees are late bloomers and it's still too early to tell. I soaked the trees in root stimulator and planted them in 5 gallon buckets as my nut grove site is not quite ready to plant. My black walnuts, apple, and red maples have leafed out, but not the pecans.
