The American Hazelnut is highly prized for its tasty nuts with easy-to-crack shells and small, sweet kernels. They add a wonderful flavor to many desserts and sweet breads. Hazelnut hedges can be used as windbreaks, visual screens, and to attract wildlife. If you're interested in planting hazelnuts for their nuts, be sure you have a bit of space. You'll need to plant 2 or more shrubs to ensure a good crop. The American Hazelnut typically begins producing nuts approximately 2-3 years after planting. This is the second year I bough hazelnut trees from TSC. The first year I planted them outside with no luck, so this year I planted them indoors in pots. One tree seemed to get right down to business while the second one was a little pokey. But with a little root boost, and time, it’s come up and is growing. Pretty excited to put these outdoors when it gets warmer!

Is very small

The tree is very small itshould be put in a pot 1st, it look dead but is sprouting in partial shade, this tree are to small to put in the ground rabits or other animals will damage them but if you care for them they and put them in apot it should be fine

not in good shape at all

plant was nearly dying. asked them to make sure the plants werent dead before bringing to me. well they werent dead but they are in pitiful shape
