Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressive medication that veterinarians may recommend for dogs and other animal patients. It is typically available as an ophthalmic solution or eye ointment, providing a localized way to manage conditions that require managing the immune response in the eyes.
Appearance: Clear and yellow and essentially free of visible particulates.

Special Precautions
Keep cyclosporine and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Cyclosporine is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Cyclosporine should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. This medication should be handled and administered with disposable gloves.
Side Effects
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking cyclosporine with your veterinarian immediately. The most common side effects include burning, stinging and redness in the eye after application. Less commonly eye watering, eye lid spasm, and hair loss and discoloration around the eye may occur with long term use.
Overdose Information
Overdose of cyclosporine may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s
