Cub Cadet LT42 Enduro XT1 42 in. 18 HP Gas Riding Lawn Mower, Kohler Single Cylinder Engine, Hydrostatic Transmission

I just picked this up from my Chehalis store. Great people. They actually had one of these in stock. I got lucky and mine was still in a crate. That works for me because I got to put it together. All the comments people say about it steering easily are true. It has a comfortable ride. I am 6’3” and it is a nice fit for me. The seat is adjustable with the push of a paddle under the seat. I checked the oil after assembly and started it up. Easily started, runs great. This is my first new lawn tractor. I am very pleased with it. It cuts really well also. And effortlessly mows the grass. If you look around this is a super buy on this item. You can’t even touch a new lawn tractor for this price from any other manufacturer. Th engine has plenty of power. Runs smooth. Th over all fit and finish is excellent. Cub Cadet did their homework when they made this item. I really wouldn’t want the twin cylinder engine. I think this one has plenty of power in reserve. It looks really nice too. Trust me this is the buy of the decade. If you are considering a purchase don’t wait, just do it. I purchased the Cub Cadet LT42 XT1 riding lawn mower from Tractor Supply in mid-March. At the time of purchase, I was told the person who assembled it in-store only worked there two weeks before leaving, something which did not exactly inspire confidence. As a first-time riding lawn mower-owner, I found its use easy enough to understand. Nevertheless, from the get-go, I struggled to get it started. Of the four times I used it, three times it took multiple attempts to start it. The readout said "Low batt" after that first run, so I put it on a trickle-charger; however, the battery was fully charged. By the fourth time I tried to get it going, it had begun leaking fuel. I watched YouTube videos, read the manual, talked to friends who had riding lawn mowers, and realized that the problem was not this greenhorn but the mower. Asurion, whom I purchased the warranty from, refused to honor the warranty without providing a reason. Thankfully being within 30 days of purchase, I was able to return it to Tractor Supply for a full refund after an uncomfortable, user-blaming conversation with the manager. (A bad battery does not cause a fuel leak.) Whether the problems I had were a result of the mower itself or whatever "assembly" it went through in the store, I do not know. I have read both glowingly-positive and frighteningly-negative reviews of Cub Cadet riding lawn mowers. When it did work, I felt that it could have been a great mower; however, the troubles I ran into far outweighed the benefits. Just a note... I had a 1/2-acre yard, flat, with no obstructions; you could not ask for an easier patch of land to run a mower on. I have since purchased a Husqvarna YTH18542.
