CountyLine Convertible Cast Iron Jet Pump, 1/2 HP is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine, no problems Lightweight being poly composition but so was the one I replaced that I installed 13 ?? yrs ago. Well is 38' to bottom w/ 9' of water due to drought. I used it as a deep well unit being over 25' and replaced a spliced 1" drive line but used the 1 1/4" line that was in good shape. What I like is that everything was in the box re: the 1/2HP one I bought. The pressure swith was mounted on the pump, the gauge, a new venturi housing w/ multiple nozzles, multiple venturi tubes, an extra pressure line from pump to pressure switch--everything necessary. The pump was set up from 120V but is convertible to 220V by removing a cover and flipping the switch. I used the replacement experience to modify the entire system . I put in quick disconnects on the pvc lines to the pressure tank w/ plus a gate valve, both sides of the whole house filter and the pump water feed connection itself. I can now replace any part w/o cutting the pcv and gluing Also jacked up the kick off pressure from 50# to 56# by turning the pressure switch nut 2 full turns. Made a difference in the shower, ice maker, sinks including the hot water delivery. If the pump lasts 13 yrs like the last one, I'd call that all good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Renovating the vacation cabin. This is a good jet pump for moderate usage. We have an old cabin with 1 & 1/4” well. This pump does a good job of bringing water for drinking, washing and gardening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convertible Pump Bought this pump because of good reviews. Runs good just was a little worry when we open box and the back of cover was bent and fan. Son straighten it out before attaching to tank.

Can I use a single suction line on a shallow well and what effect would it have?

Asked by: Texans for Trump
It can be set up with the ejector kit attached to the face of the pump so that there is a single line from the pump to the well.

I’m using the cl520 to pump from a pond but can only get 20-25 psi no matter what I do with the pressure screw. What do I need to do to get 35+ psi? I’m only pumping about 10 vertical feet.

Asked by: Ag2342
Please ensure you have the proper voltage selected in the flat box on the top of the pump. Also ensure that the proper nozzle and venture were selected for the jet kit. The jet kit must be used whether it’s a shallow or deep well. If one of the ports on the front of the pump is simply plugged, it will not build pressure. If that is not it, check for suction leaks by putting foaming shaving cream over any joints and fittings on the suction side. Run the pump and if the shaving cream dimples, that indicates air is getting sucked in from that point. Re-seal the connection and see if that fixes the problem. If you’re still having problems, please call us at 1-800-535-4950.

What is the size of the drain port on the bottom of the pump

Asked by: Tth 616
This port is tapped ¼ inch female pipe thread.

My input pipe is 1 inch pvc, will the work using a 1-1/4 in. to 1 in. adapter?

Asked by: Smyles
It is not recommended. If you cannot change to the 1-1/4” pipe, make sure that the transition is at least 1-1/2’ to 2’ of straight pipe from the pump. There should not be anything on the pump from the water source, but a piece of straight pipe.

Can this be used vertically in place of a Sta Rite MSE-6, and fit the well casing adapter?

Asked by: mikeecase
No, this pump has to be horizontal. The MSE adapter is different bolt hole dimension from that of the CL520 ejector.

Does this pump come with a shallow well adapter? This pump is Countyline 1/2 hp jet ppump.

Asked by: Adam 450
Yes, the ejector does come with this unit. The same ejector works with both the shallow well and the deep well. The difference is with the shallow well application, you would use the shorter venture #25582A406, for water level to be less than 25 feet. So, the center of the pump to the water level has to be no more than 25'.

Does this need a pressure tank

Asked by: Wilsonm73
Yes, the tank is to be set at 2 Pounds of air pressure LESS then that turn off the pressure switch of the unit. Example…20/40 would be 18#...30/50 would be 28#. If you do not have the tank the unit will turn as soon as you open a faucet and turn off when you close the faucet. This is going to destroy the motor in a short period of time, because of the heat build up and burns out the pump.

What is the rpm of the motor for the County-Line convertible cast iron jet pump ,1/2 hp?

Asked by: ChuckB67
This product is rated at 3600rpm, under load (working), it is 3450rpm.
Answered by: ErlindaC
Date published: 2019-04-10

since this unit has a pressure gauge, if I have the output going straight to a faucet, when I close the faucet will the pump stop since the pressure behind the faucet should reach the cut off pressure?

Asked by: Smyles
The pressure gauge is just to show you what the pressure is getting up to. The pressure switch is what will turn the pump on and off, as the pump is producing the pressure.
