12" auger bit is a good bit to dig it with
14 years ago
lololol,,,this auger 3pt and 12" bit are great pieces of equipment, the holes are clean and does very nicly in hard and rocky grounds, I have not tryed to go through our rock drive way yet that has a base of 18" or more of river rock and then about 6 to 10 inches of 1 inch minus, how ever i am planning on tryin it here in about 2 weeks to loosen so we can put in a 20' culvert for over flow.

Good auger but no replacement parts
The auger is great the reason for giving only three stars is that the Tractor supply stores in my area do not stock replacement cutting edges for this 12" auger the ones they stock do not fit so if something happens and you need to replace them you have to order them and wait for them to come in. It just doesn't make since to sell something and not stock the replacement parts for what you sell. The ones in stock I am guessing are for an older model. So order replacement cutting edges when you buy the auger they will be needed especially if there is rock were you are digging.

It's a beast

Does the job it's designed to do but if you go at it to hard you will bust your sheer pin. I would recommend but encourage to not try and not dig a hole to fast.
