Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great power, light weight. Easy to operate Bought the earthquake, with a 6inch bit to drill holes for are pasture fence. Tried renting a one man towable auger. Used it for 3 holes and after that it was useless on a slight grade. Thing was so heavy kept rolling away. Thought about purchasing a three point auger for my tractor, but with the amount of rocks it would this bounce off. Under suggestion from the manager at tractor supply Uniontown, I operated for the earthquake, being I can use it elsewhere with my dragging my tractor along. It drills nice it loose and even clay, any rocks smaller then a softball get dug up. I have to sometimes change the angle of the auger to help dig them up, but it works nice. Clear the hole often, use a bar for the bigger rocks, and be aware of the torque this tool puts out it catch and spin. My pasture has been plowed under so many times the first 12 inchs is easy drilling after that it's tuff, but this machine makes light work of it. Only thing I would change are the plastic choke lever and on/off switch, I sometimes hit the chole lever when operating the machine and the on/off switch is a little too small to hit with gloves on. Other then that it's excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool. This tool was a life saver. It made quick work of our project. Though it works well with two people it was not to heavy for one person to handle alone. I added the 12" extension to make our corner and brace post holes deep enough to stretch fencing wire around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 43 cc Earth Auger Very please with the Earth Auger Powerhead. Purchased roughly a month ago and finally got a chance to put it too work. I am very impress with the ease and the power. I used a 8" bit and dug 24" into the ground. The ground is not dirt but clay mud and with small tree roots throughout the ground area I was digging. I am 64 years old and dug 12 holes in less than 45 minutes. I definitely would recommend the Earth Auger Powerhead to anyone looking to install their own fence or having to dig multiple number of holes.

does this run in both directions? ie can you back out if you get stuck on a rock or root?

Asked by: Jim P in KY
Jim, this does not have reverse, as long as you are clearing the hole while you are drilling by picking it up this isn't a common occurence. Thanks!

No, the ice auger isn't geared to put an earth auger bit on it. Could cause serious injury or wreck your unit, please do not attempt.

Will this operate horizontally? I'm digging under a sidewalk for a 4" downspout drain.

Asked by: Rich42276
Hi, you are able to drill horizontally as the engine is able to drill in all positions. We do not recommended to drill horizontally for safety reasons, but the engine will operate in any position. Thank you!

I presume an auger does not come with this unit? Maybe I am missing it, but can't see where that is specified. Thanks.

Asked by: Sparky991
No, this does not come with the auger bit. Most customers want an auger bit for the job they are looking to use it for, so we sell them separate for the flexibility of purchasing a size that works best for you.
