The Carry-On Trailer U-Bolt Axle Mount Kits have the right pieces to get the job done. Each axle mount kit includes two 3/8-16 round shoulder U-bolts, four 3/8 in. flat washers, and four nylock nuts. The U-bolt axle mount kits fit most 2,000 lb. 1-7/8 in. round tube axles. The pieces in the axle mount kits are made from zinc for long-lasting durability.

Q: How long is this u-bolt from top to bottom. The specs indicate 3/8th thread by 2 1/2 wide. I need to know how long to make sure they can accommodate a 4 leaf spring. One of the reviews said they were too short. So how long are they?

  • A: Carry-On steel trailer u-bolts fit most axles with a 1-7/8" diameter round axle tube. Ther are two round shoulder 1-7/8" x 4-1/8" U-bolts with 3/8"-16 threads, QTY: 4 Flat Washers 3/8", and QTY: 4 Nylock Nuts 3/8".

    U Bolts are 4 1/2 inches and are too short

    The u bolts are only 4 1/2 inches long and you can't get a full nut on the bolts to tighten them. They need to be 1 inch longer. If you put an included washer on you cannot start the nut. They are also pretty weak because I tried to get a full nut on them and the U bolt broke.They need to be 5 1/2 inches lont to work properly

    Bolts should be an inch longer. They almost didn't fit. Longer bolts would make it easier to get it started on axle and leaf spring.
