The Carry-On Trailer Tandem Equalizer is used to connect the front axle to the rear axle through the center hanger in a tandem axle system. The tandem equalizer is usually tied together by shackle links when the springs are the eye to eye variety. Keep this trailer equalizer in your workshop or garage so your trailer is always ready for the long haul.

Q: In an answer to a previous question you stated that “the weight is 10,000”. I need to know if this is 10,000 pounds per equalizer. If so, the combined rating of each side would equal to a 20,000 pound maximum load rating. My camper is 14,000 pounds.

Q: I have a 6x12 single axle trailer made by carry on. Would it be possible to buy another axle and set of leaf spring and the tandem equalizer and install it to make my trailer a tandem axle instead of a single axle trailer?

- A: yes we can provide the parts -- it is labor intensive and requires not only axle upgrades but new fenders suspension and electrical this upgrade would not give you more GVWR -- and that warranty is not valid with that type of modification. for further assistance - please contact us at customer.service@carry-ontrailer.com5 years agoHelpful?
