Carry-On Trailer Idler Axle, 3,500 lb. Capacity is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dexter Axel with Dexter Hubs This axel is cambered, which means it is bent so when trailer is loaded the tires meet the road squarely. This helps eliminate wearing the inner edge of your trailer tires. This axel seems better than the Dexter axel I just replaced it with after 18 years of use on my landscape trailer. Being able to pick this up on a weekend from my local TSC was a lifesaver.

What is track length on a axle

Asked by: Dave D
Track length is actually considered at track width due to the axle's are measured by width when on the trailer. The track length (width) is the distance between where the springs attach to the axle. As an example if the axle is a 3K9380 the track length (width) would be 80 being that that is the measurement between the springs on the axle.

What exactly is meant by track length. vs overall length.

Asked by: kmIowa
Overall length is the length from the tip of the coupler to the back of the trailer. Track length, I am not familiar with that term.

I have a 18ft car trailer , its 82in wide in between the fenders will this axel work on my trailer?

Asked by: jwhite
We have 4 trailers that are specifically made for Car Haulers and each one of these are tandem, with 1 brake and 1 idler axle. The idler axle on these trailers are 3K9380. These are 93" hub face to hub face and 80" spring to spring. We use these dimensions for the axle's rather than track length. The best way to be sure is to actually measure the axle you have on your trailer to see if they match these dimensions.
