Q: Does it need batteries
24 days ago- AI-generated, Human-approvedA: No, this voltage tester does not require batteries. It is designed to operate by drawing power directly from the electric fence or energizer during testing.23 days agoHelpful?
Q: Is it water proof. I want to leave it all the time to see that the fence is working
a month ago- A: The American Farm Works 8-Light Electric Fence Voltage Tester is designed for temporary testing use to check fence voltage. It is not intended to be left on the fence continuously or exposed to the elements long-term. For best performance, use it to test the fence as needed and store it in a dry location when not in use.a month agoHelpful?
Q: Does it work on solar powered hot wire
9 months ago- A: Yes, this product does work on solar-powered hot wire systems. It is designed to test voltage levels on your fence line and fence controller, and is compatible with low impedance and standard duty fence chargers.9 months agoHelpful?
Q: Does this fence tester have built in battery? No changing a battery??
10 months ago- A: Thank you very much for contacting us. It would be our pleasure to assist you. This fence tester uses neon lights to indicate voltage levels ranging from 600 volts to 7,000 volts. It does not require a battery, as it is powered directly by the electric fence current during testing.10 months agoHelpful?
Q: I have one similar to this one and when using it I can barely see the lights! I turn it away from the so and still can't see them! Is yours thr same?
11 months ago- A: Hi, thank you for your question. Our chargers come with a fence OK light for you to check how the charger is working.11 months agoHelpful?

3 years ago- A: This tester can be used with a Zareba 5-mile charger.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: What is it telling me when all lights blink when hooked up?
3 years ago- A: The highest blinking light indicates voltage level. This means, it is testing at 7000 V.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: How often does the tester flash? Does slower flashes indicate a weak battery?
3 years ago- A: The tester flashes approximately every half second.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: My charger says it’s 8kv. Will this work to test it or is the voltage too high?
3 years ago- A: This tester can be used with any pulsating output energizer. Please give us a call directly with any further questions, we're happy to assist!3 years agoHelpful?
Q: How would I know what the high voltage out put to line should be ? Isthmus output voltage anyway proportional to the chargers "joules" rating ? If my tester is measuring 600v -7kv...howdy I know ifmycharger is performing ?
3 years ago- A: The energizer's no load voltage will fluctuate +/- 20%. If all the lights on the tester are illuminated during a no load test, that is showing the energizer has a great output and is working correctly.
