Agri-Fab 45-0463 (130 lb. Tow Broadcast Spreader) will help you grow the beautiful lawn that you've always wanted. With the universal hitch the spreader can attached to all makes and models of riding lawn mowers and lawn tractors. With the 130lb hopper this tow broadcast spreader could allow you to cover an estimated 1/2 acre (25,000 sq. ft.) with one hopper fill. This spreader contains a fully enclosed gear house for gear protection. It also comes with (2) 13" x 4" pneumatic tires and a steel rod flow control that allows for precise setting adjustment from your tractor seat and gives you a smooth and easy distribution of fertilizer, grass seed, salt or other materials.3-Year Limited Warranty

Assembly exasperating, product could be better

I recently purchased a 130# tow spreader and can only, objectively, give it a two star rating as it works but just! I have assembled many pieces of garden equipmemt in my lifetime but this one takes the cake for length of time required for assembly. A driving wheel secured by a cotter pin is inadequate and the hopper profile is not really condisive to easy fertilizer flow. It should be more conical so you don't have to interrupt spreading to adjust fertilizer in hopper. On top of all this I was missing a shaft collar in the multitude of parts provided. Not good guys! Don't advertise US manufacturing when I am sure most of the spreader was manufactured in China! My first and last product fromAgri-Fab. A Canadian friend!

Good Sturdy Design & Operation

This spreader appears very sturdy with a well thought out design. I especially like the rod operated drop gate as opposed to the more flimsy cable operated type. The first time use went well, and hopefully will continue for a long time. The only drawback is the occasional vague portion of the assembly instructions.

Very nice Spreader. but Assembly Could be Easier.

There are two sets of assembly instructions, a Quick Start Guide and an Operator's Manual. Step 6 "Slide the spreader impeller onto the spreader shaft," was difficult due to a very tight fit or the impeller and the shaft. I had to carefully use a drill to open the impeller hole very slightly to fit onto the shaft. Step 11, installing the flow control rod into the spreader plate required a few taps with a hammer using a small block of wood. Step 13 of the Quick Start Guide has an error. It refers to hex bolt C and it should be hex bolt F. The Operator's Manual describes it correctly. Otherwise the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The spreader is very high quality and performs very well. It would be nice if some sort of extension rod was available to attach to the Flow Control Arm for use with a zero turn mower. I would purchase it again.

Operates well BUT not designed for towing behind a zero-mower; lever can’t be opened/closed.
I settled on installing a LINEAR ACTUATOR to operate from the seat.
