I bought this for my 11yr old daughter’s 30 yr old mare. We have a small town horse group that we do gymkhanas that are not super competitive. Our mare, Mama, has developed arthritis over this past yr or 2 and the cold weather makes it harder for her to get around. I bought the senior pellets for her hoping it would help her feel better and she is loving it. We entered the into the gumkhana and they did great! She moved more easily without pain or stress. We don’t push Mama to do more than what she physically feels comfortable to do and she loped every event! My daughter said she had to hold her back. Our mate hasn’t been in it long but we already see and improvement and can’t wait to see how she does longer term in it. Mama also loves the taste. She always eats alll of her supplements.

I have seen improvement in my 19 yr old arthritic seniorl after only going through one bag! Previously, he was fed MSM for 3 months with no change in his discomfort. He wouldn’t lift his hooves nicely to be cleaned, was very stiff when starting out riding and unwilling to move out. Now, he easily lifts his hooves and will hold them up for awhile and when he is ridden, he moves out great right away and even offers a “crow-hop” or two! He is much more himself and is less grumpy overall. It took a bit to get him to eat this though, as the smell is very off-putting. I appreciate the ease of feeding pellets so there is no waste, but the scent could be improved for my horse’s sake. That is the reason for 4 stars, otherwise I would give 5.
