Mediocre product, poor warranty

We used this pressure washer to clean our front and side concrete porches. During the 6 hours of use, the unit rattled and vibrated so much that it shook out the attaching hardware for the handle. Also we needed to ‘trap’ the pressure washer in place with garbage cans otherwise it would vibrate its way across the driveway. The biggest disappointment came after shutting it off to take a break and then attempting to restart. The handle wouldn’t pull (yes, we pulled the trigger on the sprayer to release the pressure first). Still something was preventing the pull cord from coming out. Upon unscrewing the oil cap for troubleshooting, it popped off in my hand and spewed out an oil mixture. The crankcase was being filled with water or gas during operation and becoming pressurized - surely not supposed to happen. I emptied all the oil, refilled with appropriate oil quantity, and ran the unit again for about 3 minutes. The crankcase became completely full again with water or gas. I called Tractor Supply to initiate an exchange or return. They said they don’t handle any returns after 30 days unless you bought the extended warranty. They only stand behind their products for 30 days unless they get you on the extended warranty?! Lesson learned there. They suggested I call Simpson directly for warranty claims. The Simpson representative identified a local dealer and I took the unit there - further disappointment ensued! They said their business only handles warranty claims for Simpson units with Simpson engines, not Simpson units with Honda engines. This was a failure of the Simpson warranty representative that sent me to the wrong dealer. It’s an ordeal for me to arrange a pickup truck to take this gas filled oily pressure washer to a dealer as it doesn’t fit in my sedan’s trunk. Although this dealer couldn’t handle my warranty claim, he did help troubleshoot it and said it’s most likely a stuck float in the carburetor causing fuel to enter the crankcase. Here’s the biggest disappointment of all- any fuel related issues are not covered under warranty, even if the unit has only been used 6 hours!! I’m not one to write reviews, but I’m so furious at the poor quality, return and warranty experience that this warning to other consumers is my only solace.

Defective from the Start!!!

I am very frustrated. I purchased this pressure washer from tractor supply, expecting that this brand with a Honda motor would be good. However, far from it!!! From day one, I put it together and noticed right away that the bolts on the motor were backing out. I quickly shut it down and tightened up all four bolts. Extremely loose, like they were never tightened at all. I was like maybe a fluke. I use it for one couple hour session and put it away. Noticed the oil was leaking from the motor down by the left wheel side, and I was like you got to be kidding me. Still I thought well I guess it’s just a small leak and will be ok. Nope, now I get it out this year to run it and fill it up with oil cause it’s empty and fire it up, only to have the water exit unit that attaches to pressure hose spraying everywhere. It appears the seams of the metal casting just opened up. I can’t believe it!!! I paid hundreds of dollars for this thing and only used it a couple hours and it’s been broke from day one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Motor Leaking, Aluminum casting bad

Bought this pressure washer right before winter. I bought it, Add is the oil that came with it and put it together. Everything seem good so I stored it inside our basement for the winter. Haven’t really used it till now In September 2024. So the machine is new. I started noticing a leak of oil coming from the bottom side by the left tire and thought It was the oil Drain bolt loose or something. Turns out that the aluminum casting of the motor itself is leaking oil! So new machine with the bat aluminum casting and driving it to the nearest service center now.

No, I do not recommend this product.
