If you're a first class woodworker, keeping everything single phase, I highly recommend the SB1109. The variable speed makes a huge difference. It's all.or nothing with the others. I honestly wish I had this Machine 10+ years ago. In some cases, I don't need to use my wide belt. I can talk in a normal voice while she's running. The finish is attractive as well imo. Calibration is a breeze. I almost went a different route, so glad I didn't. I'll be putting a YouTube video up by summer time with a review. One thing.... the 5" to 4" reducer does not fit. You need 5 1/2 to 4, or 6 to 4. I modified mine. Not attractive, but works

5hp, Variable feed speed, and DRO!!!

So far I have run about 200 board foot thru this thing and I love it! This was an upgrade from an old Ridgid with a shelix head. I thought I would miss the positive stops that the lunch box planers typically have. However with the DRO you can accurately calibrate so you get the same thickness every time. I verified it with some calipers and it was spot on. I’m both glad I waited and wish I hadn’t at the same time. Glad I waited to get the exact machine I was looking for but wish I had purchased it 4 years ago to save on inflation.
