The Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Bermudagrass is drought-tolerant to stand up to scorching heat with root-building nutrition for a stronger lawn. The combination seed, fertilizer, and soil improver can be used for growing a new lawn or overseeding an existing lawn in 3 steps: 1) prep the area 2) apply the seed, and 3) rake the seed into the soil. For best results, plant seed in the late spring or early summer when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 65°F and 80°F, or air temperatures between 70 degrees F and 90 degrees F. Water daily or as needed to keep the soil moist for at least 3 weeks or until seedlings reach 2 inches in height. Scotts goes to great lengths to bring the freshest seed available, incorporating everything from the packaging design to the product formula and the seed itself, so you can grow your own thick, beautiful lawn. For best results, always use fresh products. After opening, plant within the season.

Tough growing grass in Arizona

I have an area in my yard that had grass but is now dirt. Normally, the winter Rye grass is planted in October not Bermuda grass. The area was well prepared prior to putting down seeds, The dirt was loosened and weeds, rocks and roots removed. The oleanders that border the area were thinned to let more light in. The soil pH was 7. The seeds were planted with the Scotts rotary spreader at the suggested rate. The sprinkler system was set at 6 water cycles per day. The daily temperatures ranged from 60-100. No chemicals or weed control products had been used in the area. Although there was no growth in any of the 1000 square feet of soil, it is hard to blame the seeds. The consumer services were a great source of help and feedback. Back to the drawing board for next spring.

Works even in a heat wave

This grass seed works and works quickly! It even grew in the crazy summer heat wave we’ve been having this summer. The grass comes in thick, too. I will absolutely be using it again this fall to bulk up my lawn before winter.

Used product to reseed areas after a minor drought period. Seed took with little effort and continued dry conditions (with some irrigation). Planning to purchase more as new dry/dead areas have emerged with dry conditions continuing.

Great grass seed

I had a few bare spots that needed grass and this worked well. Planted the seeds and kept them watered. They germinated within a couple of weeks and so far still doing well and starting to fill in better. The main thing to establish grass is to keep it watered! Will definitely buy again!

This grass seed is a mixture of Bermuda seed, fertilizer, and clay as a moisture retainer. The photo shows three distinctly different entities. The seed, fertilizer, and the clay. Definitely rake the area before seeding and then tamp in the seed to cover slightly with soil. Do not let it dry out. It may take a couple of weeks for germination.

Fills-in thin and brown areas

I didn't really make any preparations for the Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Bermuda grass. My lawn is decently thick, but has some thins spots, as well as brown spots. I watered my front lawn then used my Scotts rotary spreader to apply an even layer across. After spreading I watered a bit more. Within about a week I noticed new grass growing. After about two weeks, the brown spots appeared more green and full. I'm excited to see how this progresses over the next several weeks.

Fast growing bermuda grass. Great for spot repair, or area where damaged grass exists. Best to aerate the section needed before planting to allow air to ground. You can use a machine or hand rake but it's pretty important if you want to get quick results. Definitely worked out in my yard with some grass that was damaged by chemical overspray. Took out the old, planted the seed and within a week had some fresh growth. Thanks for providing a reliable product.

Fast germination

I used these seeds to patch some areas on my lawn where the other seeds would always wash away and no grass was growing there. I was surprised how fast these germinated. It took about a week and I could see small sprouts. After just three weeks I can’t tell where bare spots used to be. The seeds were super easy to spread, but you have to make sure to water them a lot.

Happy with Progress so Far

My husband cleaned and prepped an area between our home and our carport digging by hand everything out and then applied Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Bermudagrass to the area. He watered it faithfully daily and within a very short time it was sprouting and coming in. He planted it during this summer before it got really hot. So far we are happy with the progress and we recommend Scotts Turf Builder Grass Bermudagrass Seed to anyone looking to fill in a place that needs grass. This area gets full sun half the day and early morning and late in the day it gets shade.

Always a go to product for us. This thrf builder is great to use during the spring. It has root builders to help with strong root grow. It is basically an all in one : seed, fertilizer, and soil improvers. Make sure to keep your lawn watered daily for about a week or so, depending on your zone.

This product is amazing. I have celebration bermuda grass on my property. I had a ball spot where no grasswas growing. I used the product on the specific area. Following the instructions a week latt i noticed grass seeds . Now the bald area is flushed with grass.

It works pretty fast I saw little sprouts coming up every where. With in a week. I’m not a patient person so I need things to work fast. And this has always done its job. I use this grass seed for spots that are bare. I’ve used Scott’s for years. I’ve even used it at work a a few bare spots. This is the only brand I would use or recommend.

Works for overseeding or a new lawn.

Living in West Texas, the grass gets dry and sparse in areas. This bag of Scott's Turf Builder Grass Seed Bermudagrass helps to grow more grass in empty areas or overseed sparse ones. This type is made for our area which is drought prone, bright sunlight and lots of heat. It is a 4 pound bag of seeds which can cover 4,000 square feet. To apply it is recommended to apply with the Scott's spreader which we have. It was easy to apply and seeing sprouts already. Be sure and water appropriately. All directions are on the bag. Great product.

Love this seed. It’s my go to for the backyard. Here in the Phoenix area we’ve had a crazy hot summer with no monsoon season and it’s still over 110° in September, so I can’t plant yet, but I’m looking forward to late October when I can get this on the ground! The yard has pretty much died and we’ve given up. Haha! This seed never lets me down though. I can plant it in the fall and with our mild winters it will thrive! Scott’s Turfbuilder is the best!

This seed is great for filling in spots in your yard. I planted it and watered it daily. Within a week, I could see the seeds coming up and filling in the bare spots. It seemed to have a good germination rate. It is easy to plant and easy to maintain.

Good coverage for product however needs alot of attention. Need to water 2x a day and keep the seed covered with soil. So birds do not bother it. Try to not apply when heavy rain is expected it may wash away

I have used this Bermuda seed product in the past. It works well as long as you prepare the ground properly. I have an area that used to be part of a landscape island that was bare. Planted the seed and within a few weeks, there was green grass where there had been bare ground. It is also important to plant the seed when the weather conditions are right in your area. The grass seed also works well to over seed after aerating the soil.

I'm incredibly impressed with this Miracle-Gro product. Bermuda grass can be so difficult sometimes and especially at the end of the summer, in the southern heat, it can give me a hard time. I was so excited today to see that in such little time, I am already beginning to fill in the dead spaces of grass that once existed. I have been caring more tenderly for the grass in that area using more water than usual, but I am quickly seeing results!

We have a large patch of grass that’s always looking thin and sparse. This Bermuda grass is perfect! It grew quickly and filled out the space. It has nice thick roots and the bag covers a large area. It is drought tolerant so it holds up to our SoCal weather. Overall, it’s a great grass!

Seed that Works

If you have Bermuda grass, I would highly recommend buying this seed. It's definitely the best in the business. I've tried other seed before and it does not work the same. I always go back to the Scotts brand. I would suggest when using this product to make sure that you put a good amount of seed in the area that helps for better growth.

We had our septic system repaired and afterward needed to repair the grass. We used Scott’s Turf Builder Grass Seed on bare ground and within about 10 days we could see tiny grass seedlings coming up. After a month a huge improvement and today you can’t tell where the original sod left off and the new seed begins. All in all it took about 3 months, but I’m extremely pleased with the outcome!
