horrible, unless you want weeds growing
WORST product I have ever bought and ruined a large section of my yard. I think out of the 3 bags I put down, 80% was some type of junk fescue/weed and zero of anything else.

We're sorry, Alex0222, to read about your disappointment with Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Landscaper's Mix and appreciate your feedback.
There are approximately 10,000 weed seeds per 1 cubic foot of native soil. Soil preparation, such as for seeding, brings weed seeds to the surface, so it is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding.

Fed the birds!

I don't know why I buy Scotts products, as they rarely work for me. This was no different. THis was just a bag of birdseed! I followed the directions, and two weeks later, Not ONE blade of grass popping up!

Under ideal growing conditions the seed will begin to germinate in 14 days. Fluctuating temperatures in the spring will delay germination. It is best to apply this when temperatures are consistently above 65 degrees.

Looks like weeds
I used the landscapers mix after aerating in the fall. Whatever seed was mixed in grows bright green and grows much faster than my existing lawn. The lawn now looks like it has nutsedge every where. Whatever grass that us should not be mixed in with bluegrass/fescue. I dont see any other way to get rid of it besides paying someone to rip up the existing lawn and start over.

When grass is young and newly germinated it is immature and will have a different color and texture than established grass. Regular mowing and fertilizer applications will help it to mature to its proper color.

When grass is young and newly germinated it is immature and will have a different color and texture than established grass. Regular mowing and fertilizing will help it mature to its proper color and texture. You can overseed with other varieties until you get the desired mix appearance. St. Augustine cannot be grown from grass seed. It is only grown by sod or plugs.
