Terrible experience!!!! I can’t believe how a store of this magnitude could sell an expensive product and NOT stand behind it!!!! Purchased a brand new Schwinn Trike, on line, via the Smyrna, Delaware Tractor Supply Store - $609.98! The Trike was delivered to my home, by the store’s pick up truck (due to the wide back wheels, any Trike does not fit inside a regular vehicle) and all seemed to work perfectly. The next day, for whatever reason, the brakes - front and back did not work! Calling the store, I was told that it is highly unusual for anyone from the store to come out and repair the Trike???? After being completely aghast, they said they would TRY and get someone out to my home in a few days???? I went to the store to confirm that someone would be coming out to fix the problem and to also get the Owners Manual which I did not receive when the Trike was delivered. I was given the manual and was told that they would ask the young man who put the Trike together if he would come out to fix the Trike - And, that they could not force him to come out to the house????? What kind of professional behavior was that???? When the store manager went to ask him and returned, she said he would probably be out there by the end of the week - Friday - today was Tuesday. At that point I had had enough of this stupidity and said I wanted to return the Trike and the store manager gladly accepted that request. I was told that the young man who assembled the Trike was not their regular assembly person - who was on vacation and they were not sure when he would return - the manager was going to send out to fix the Trike the young man or originally put the Trike together and obviously had no idea what he was doing because the brakes were NOT installed properly to begin with. I did not want the same young man trying to fix what he obvious - my the store managers own admittance was not in the business of assembling Trikes. It is very sad for me to have to give this beautiful Trike back since I waited three weeks for it and was excited to be having it. They IMMEDIATELY send the same young man to my house ready that day to fix the Trike - now, he was able to come to the house IMMEDIATELY - before, I had to wait until Friday of that week - at that point, I had no faith in his ability to fix the Trike and feel completely unsafe in riding the Trike due to the brakes possibly failing! Additionally, they sent him in a small SUV vehicle which the Trike could not fit into but he somehow, with our help forced the Trike into his personal SUV and we provided rope to help keep the Trike inside and from falling out because, he could not close the hatch of his SUV. Horrible experience. I would NEVER, EVER recommend this particular store to anyone and this whole experience was a shame. Every employee that I encounter in that store was very young and in my opinion to young with no professional people skills at all. This store should have assembled the Trike by a professional assembly person from the start. The young man said to me “these brakes must have come from the factory defective because all I did was put them on the Trike”!!!!! Very poor!
