Q: Do I need this in a pellet stove

1 Answer
  • A: You should not use the granular Rutland Dry Creosote Remover in a pellet stove, as the granular material can clog the auger mechanism. Instead, you should use products specifically designed for pellet stoves to prevent damage and ensure safety.

Q: Do I have to brush it?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. You do not brush it in. The dry creosote remover is added to a hot fire and works by loosening creosote as it burns. However, brushing or sweeping the chimney afterward is still recommended to remove the loosened residue.

Q: Stainless steel liner with creasel build-up how do I apply it

1 Answer
  • A: This product must be applied directly onto a hot bed of coals to ensure that the granules are burned. The chemicals then travel with the smoke up into the stainless liner to convert the creosote into a brushable ashy substance.

Excellent Results

I have used this product for the past several heating seasons as I have a woodburning insert to heat my home. I also clean my own chimney every fall. Since I have been using Rutland's chimney maintenance product there has been very little ash to brush out of chimney! It really does the job and I'll continue buying it as it's worth the money.
