RUTLAND Fiberglass Chimney Brush Extension Rod Kit is designed with the DIY homeowner in mind. Using 1/4 in. NPT threading to connect to a chimney brush, there are six 3 ft. rods for 18 ft. total. Attach to a RUTLAND Chimney Sweep Wire or Poly Brush to clean a chimney from the top down or up through the open fireplace. The fiberglass is flexible enough to handle slight offsets, but not enough to bend around sharp corners. for best results, clean with an up-and-down motion.

Q: I just bought a rutland 6" x 10" brush and need rods. It says to use 1/4" NPT rods but measuring the threads it is clearly 3/8" threads. Why the difference and will 1/4" work?

- A: ¼” NPT is an industrial-sized threading that would need to be measured with an NPT dye, not a ruler. NPT stands for National Pipe Threading. If the brush requires a ¼” NPT threaded rod, then we recommend sticking with our KRK-18, 10624, or 10672 rods.4 years agoHelpful?
