RUTLAND Stove Gasket Cement pulls double duty because not only can this cement adhere any fiberglass gasket to most any metal, but it can also be used to fix those small cracks, pinholes, and leaks in a cast iron stove. Available in a handy squeeze tube or in a larger caulk gun-ready size, this cement will help restore a stove to safe and efficient operation. Before it is heat cured, it can also be cleaned up with water, so there is no need to worry about small mistakes when applying, even if it has already dried.

Q&As

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: How long after applied before I can turn on my pellet stove

1 Answer
  • A: After applying Rutland Stove and Gasket Cement (Model 77E), you must wait at least one hour for the cement to air dry before starting your first fire. This initial air-dry period should be done with the stove door open.

Q: Will this work on a Big Green Egg?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, Here is the information we received from our vendor- No – we do not recommend using this cement on a Big Green Egg because it is not designed to be exposed to the elements – rain and snow will cause the cement to degrade and the gasket to come loose. If they are looking for a product to use to replace a gasket on a Big Green Egg, we recommend our Ceramic Grill Replacement Gaskets, TSC SKU 2230688 or 2230689.

Worked well on a franklin stove that had a hole in the back corner. Water had rusted a section of corner that dripped in from masonry chimney.

Rutland gasket cement

This was purchased a kit with rope gasket. Y door used all but 6 inches of the 7 foot. I'm a mechanic and I squeezed every drop out, it wasnt close to being enough to even cover bottom of channel. Ridiculously small amount.

No, I do not recommend this product.
