The best auto fill for a rubbermaid stock tank

I have over 8 of these working here. I do not use a regular hose. I put in a brass quick dis-connect fitting into the unit. If it get to cold, I simply disconnect it. Anytime you put something in and out of the plastic, it will start to weaken. I have not had blow-outs like some here have stated. We have been using these units for the last 20 years now. There is no substitute. Look into a brass quick disconnect solution to put the one fitting into the unit one time, and simply disconnect the hose when not needed.

I keep a close eye on all my troughs even with the floats. In two days I’ve had two break and flood my barns and pens within a few hours of them breaking. TWO OF THEM LESS THAN 4 MONTHS OLD.

Hose connection is a problem.

The hose connection needs to be better quality. Works great at first but after a while if there is pressure, it can break easily.

Weak parts, poor design

It worked okay for the first year. But the connection points tighten in opposite directions so it is constantly coming loose and leaking. Since all the parts are cheap plastic it is easy to overtighten and strip the connections when trying to rectify the leaking. Even the hose pressure being too high can cause it to disconnect.
