Q: what kind of reel to roll this back up?

1 Answer
  • A: Tractor supply offers a manual hand crank roller by American Farm Works that should work with this product. Bekaert does not offer a roller to wind up wire once dispensed.

Q: Can this wire be used as a buried fence for dogs?

1 Answer
  • A: The 17ga electric fence wire is a galvanized uninsulated wire used for agricultural electric fences. If you are referring to the invisible fence that is buried for dogs, the 17ga Bekaert electric fence wire will ground out if placed underground.

Q: Is this good for horse fence

1 Answer
  • A: The 17ga Bekaert Electric Fence Wire will work for all animals contained with Electric Fence Wire. Do be aware that the 17ga is a smaller gauge and is generally used for temporary fence applications. For permanent paddocks the 12.5ga High Tensile Coils would be a better fit for more permanent applications.

Q: Will this rust? I installed electrical wire last year and its all rusted.

1 Answer
  • A: Although this product is galvanized it may still rust over time. Don't forget you can also use our high tensile smooth wire with Class 3 or Bezinal coating. These products will stand up to rust much better longer than our electric fence wire. End of spools where crushed and bent took a lot of time to straighten out enough to unwind wire one spool became unusable as end of spool came off and wire unwound into a mess.
