The part was domed or rounded which makes is difficult to put things down on it so the strip can't be used as countertop.

The Range Metal Kleen Seam really is great. No more grease or anything going between counters and range.

We had a couple smaller, narrower, metal strips before. I liked the wider metal ones but they are hard to find. These are metal and wider. The only problem is that the gap between our stove and countertop is so wide it was hard to keep these in place. I fixed that by attaching a strip of self sticking foam strips you normally use around doors to the metal strip underneath the closure strips. They are now solidly in place and don't move unless we want to clean under them and then we just lift them out of the way. Great buy and hard to find. Being metal there's no chance they will burn like the silicon ones.
