The Pirtle Nursery 6 gal. Pecan Tree is useful as a shade tree in your landscape, and it provides an edible fruit nut. Large limbs grow up from the trunk of this easy-to-grow tree in a distinctive upright spreading fashion. Pecan trees are fast growing and tolerant of many soil types. Nuts are enclosed in a thick leathery husk that are harvested in the fall months. Specific varieties are determined by availability, including but not limited to Pawnee, Native, Kanza, Choctaw and Desirable. A pecan tree will not grow outside of hardiness zones 6-10.

  • Includes 1 pecan tree in a #6 pot (6.06 gal.) and detailed planting instructions
  • Harvest nuts in fall
  • Best grown in USDA hardiness zones 6-10
  • Easy-to-plant pecan trees require a cross-pollinator and different varieties have different pollen receptive/shedding time frames
  • Grows to 75-100 ft. H
  • Pirtle Nursery's pecan tree is tolerant of many soils; plant in full sun with well-drained soil, space 40-70 ft. apart
  • Useful as a shade tree in your landscape and provides edible fruit nut
