Your cat's microchip is their key to outdoor freedom. The PetSafe Microchip Cat Door reads your cat's unique 15-digit microchip ID to let them in and out of the house. This door allows you to program up to 40 pets, so it's great for multi-pet households. Since it only reads your best friend's microchip ID, you won't have to worry about any unwanted animals wandering into your house. Programming your cat's microchip to the door is quick and easy - your pet will be heading out to play in no time! If you have a pet in your home without a microchip, programmable collar keys are sold separately. The door has a 4-way lock so you can set it to 'Locked', 'Unlocked', 'Enter Only' or 'Exit Only' to keep your cat safe and secure. This battery powered door will signal when it's time for you to change the batteries. Your cat deserves the best. Trust PetSafe to keep your pet healthy, safe and happy.

Unfortunately doesn't seem to work well for my cat but is letting a neighbour's cat in - not sure how. Sadly a waste of money for me

Fantastic Cat Door

This is the bees knees!! We’ve been fighting raccoon & possum & stray cats getting into our little barn and eating our barn kitty’s food and terrorizing her. It took about 3 days for her to learn how to open the door and now she’s a pro. We have a camera watching the door and have seen several raccoons and stray cats try to get inside to no avail. Our barn cat is so much more calm and relaxed to finally be safe in her little barn. We microchipped her since we didn’t want her to wear a collar. This locking mechanism is brilliant!! What a wonderful secure cat door!!!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

New kittens are too smart

We bought this a couple of years ago. It works great with our (then: only) chipped cat. Even though he weighs 5.5kg! The door is programmed to only let him enter, but for any cat to exit. The ideal was to let his "friends" exit. We have taken on two more kittens now. They are not programmed into the door yet. However, since the flap opens outwards, to allow exits, they have worked out how to hook a claw around the flap when they are outside, to pull the flap upwards and enter.
